Inauguration Pics

Here are a few pics from Evangelina’s trip with my mother to DC for the big event. They had a great time and luckily they weren’t caught up in the purple tunnel of doom. Evangelina said that the stars were aligned because they just kept moving and somehow turned up at the correct security gate and made it in.

pottery and blogging resumes shortly.

TV Time

I was watching the inauguration on NBC today and just after the event they showed some pics of the crowd.  Here’s a pic I took from the TV.  That’s my wife, Evangelina, peeking out from behind that sign that someone else was holding.

The old joke on Capitol Hill is that the most dangerous place on the Hill is between Sen. Chuck Schumer and a microphone….but it may now be more dangerous to be between Evangelina and a TV camera.

Once in a Lifetime…

My mother received 2 tickets to the Inauguration of Barack Obama.  I hesitated when I was asked if I would like to join her.  Evangelina on the other hand now has plans to attend the Inauguration.  I can’t wait to watch it on the teevee and know that Evangelina and my mother will be witnessing history.

Cocktail Hour

I thought I had text on this email post but blogger being blogger….maybe it is time to check out wordpress…all the cool kids are doing it.

Anyways, a few of these will probably end up as soap dishes but they’re meant for the table.  They’re small and thrown off of the hump…something I rarely do.  I guess I’m continuing to go square with everything.  I have some dinner sized ones to be trimmed and decorated tomorrow.  I’ll probably call them “tapas plates” so people know that they’re meant for food or snacks.

I’m slowly getting a groove going in the studio and when I have something larger or more significant going on in there I’ll post it.  Hopefully the pots and posts will start flowing a little more smoothly soon.

I’m Not a Morning Person!

Now…I’m sure I’m biased but these little girls sure are cute.  But…our littlest is not so cute and not so fun at 4:30am.  For the past week or so our sweet Clarita has been waking up well before the sunrise and screaming in her crib.  She just wants to hang out and start her day….oh…and then she prefers to spend her days screaming at us since we don’t understand exactly what it is that she wants exactly when she wants it…good times.
I’ve never really been a morning person.  Obviously, with 3 little ones running around that doesn’t matter any more.  I’m not opposed to getting up early now and I’m always very productive when I get in the studio as soon as everyone is off to school…but before 5…I’m shot for the rest of the day.  Especially since I’ve been going to bed much too late recently.  Tonight it’s time to get back on track….early to bed….since I’ll be early to rise.
No pots today….I won’t even fake it with pics of pots that I made before the holidays.  I should start to stress out soon since Baltimore is approaching quickly.  Luckily, I got a good deal of work done in December that I’m pleased with.  The first pots of the year should appear tomorrow….should.
The wheels are clean, the tools are clean and the shelves have some space.  I’m starting to run out of excuses so I better start making some work.

Late for Work

I’m late for work.  About 2 days or so…and about two weeks behind on keeping up with the blog.  I spent some time in the studio sitting, making lists, organizing and getting ready to officially get back to work.

Tomorrow better be the day that I really get something done.  If I do…you’ll hear about it.  If I don’t…I may just write something and pretend that I did.
Oh….and Happy New Year and a late welcome to 2009.

Hey Cupcake!

One of the many reasons to like Austin….Hey Cupcake!

Evangelina and I just got back from a whirlwind trip to Austin where we met with a realtor, narrowed down a neighborhood to live in, and talked to some friends about the house/pre-school/elementary school/pottery/studio scene.
Needless to say…we’re a little overwhelmed but very excited about our upcoming move.
More about the trip later.
